A detached garage at a residence on Adella Street in Susanville sustained major fire damage Monday in a blaze the Susanville Fire Department is calling “electrical in nature.”
Fire personnel from Susanville City, along with automatic aid from the Susan River Fire Protection District and Cal-Fire, responded to the reported residential structure shortly before noon on Monday.
According to SFD Battalion Chief James Moore the first-in engine company arrived to find heavy smoke and fire with exposures threatened on three sides. At this point firefighters initiated a defensive attack, overhauled the building and investigated for the origin and cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
Agencies also assisting with the incident were the Susanville Police Department, Susanville Public Works, LMUD and Frontier Communications.
