Sadly the boys were overwhelmed by the tenacity of Anderson High School, a team that has grown increasingly frustrated with Lassen after the local boys handed them two league losses prior to this game.
Anderson scored three goals in the first half leaving Lassen goalless, stunned and trying to regroup.
Finally Lassen scored one in the second half off of a corner taken by Lassen junior, Kaden Goforth.
After chasing a ball that seemed to ricochet off of everything in sight LHS senior Robert Pelfrey managed to direct it into the back of the net with the top of his head.
Lassen gave up just one more goal close to the end of the game. A tough finish to a phenomenal season! Final score was Anderson 4, Lassen 1.
The Lassen Girls beat Corning 1-0 with the lone goal scored by Brianna Mendonca (senior captain). The girls will move onto the next round of playoffs.
