On Wednesday, June 8th and Tuesday, June 28th, LMUD Board of Directors President, Fred Nagel, presented the 2016, Lassen Municipal Utility District Community Scholarship to Lassen High graduates Justin Giusti and Deanna Lewis.
President Nagel presented the first $1,500 scholarship to Deanna, daughter of Michelle and Jacob Lewis of Janesville, at the June 8th special board meeting.
Deanna, who was among the top 25 students in Lassen High’s class of 2016, plans on attending CSU Chico this fall. Her focus of study will be Business Management.
Justin, son of Erika and Phil Giusti of Standish, received his scholarship, also in the amount $1,500 at the June 28th, board meeting.
President Nagel presented the award to Justin, congratulating him on his achievement. Justin will attend the University of Nevada at Reno and plans on studying Rangeland Management.
LMUD’s scholarship program is funded through the utilities Public Benefits program. Each year, two $1,500 scholarships are awarded to students who attend school in the district’s service territory and whose parents or guardians reside in a home served by LMUD.
“Congratulations to Deanna and Justin,” said LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips. “LMUD is proud to be able to contribute toward their academic success.”
