Annual Farm Bureau Blues and Brews Festival this Saturday!

IMG_1781-XL2016poster180The Lassen County Farm Bureau and Every Bloomin’ Thing Nursery are teaming up once again to bring microbrew and blues to Lassen County on August 6th from 5:00 to 11:00p.m. for their eighth annual Blues and Brews Festival scholarship fundraiser.

At the Farm Bureau’s annual fundraiser you can enjoy a tasty sip of hand-crafted beer, the sweet sounds of blues and tri-tip, while at the same time helping to support local scholarships, FFA and 4-H activities. Last year the Farm Bureau contributed more than $7,000 to our community through scholarship awards and events geared towards supporting local kids pursuing careers in agriculture.

Additionally some of the proceeds help fund agricultural education.

The evening is fun and relaxed – bring your friends and lawn chairs and dance to the Buddy Emmer Blues Band, a long-time favorite on the west coast and northern Nevada circuit. The band has opened for acts which include  James Cotton, Elvin Bishop, Lydia Pence and Cold Blood, Joe Bonamassa, Pinetop Perkins, Eddie the Chief Clearwater, Tommy Castro.

The group has also shared the stage with Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Greg Allman, Jimmie Vaughn and is just coming off of an extended booking at Blues and Brews in Reno.

Along with the music you can enjoy a fabulous tri-tip BBQ by Hagata Ranch, with the finest regionally produced beers. Vote for your favorite micro brew the Farm Bureau’s Single Barrel Brew Contest for specialty beers! Quench your thirst with hand-crafted products from Great Basin, Lassen Ale Works, Sierra Nevada, Fall River Brewery, Brewing Lair and Susan River Brewing.

The event is supported by Superior Products, Alpine Beverage and Susanville Grocery Outlet.

The festival is held in the gorgeous outdoor wonderland at Every Bloomin Thing Nursery, 705-670 US Hwy 395 E., and tickets are available at Every Bloomin Thing locations in Susanville and in Chester, at Lassen Ale Works and the Chamber of Commerce.

Dinner will be from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. with dancing until 11:00 and there is plenty of free overnight parking for your RV or car.

For ticket information call 251-2330 or 310-0453. To find out more click here and visit the Farm Bureau on Facebook.
