This Friday, at the Lassen Grizzly’s varsity home game at Arnold Field, there will be a special ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the LHS Drill Team.
The celebration of the Grizzliette’s 50th birthday will kick off before the varsity game with a performance of the school song. The drill team is inviting all alumni to join in and sing. This will take place around 7:00p.m. in the stands at the field.
At halftime of the varsity game the Drill Team will perform the classic routine ‘Legs’ dating back to the 1984 team, after which they will be joined by the next generation of drill team, the Little Grizzliettes.
“Not many schools have held on to their dance/drill teams for this long,” explains Drill Team Coach Shelley Bennett. “We are fortunate to have support from our LHS staff and district, alumni, and community.”
