The Lassen Community College English Department is presenting Night of the Cinephile this Friday on the school’s campus. Focusing on films of cultural, historic and artistic significance the evening will feature a free showing of the 1956 classic Invasion of the Bodysnatchers.
The sci-fi masterpiece, originally a Collier’s Magazine serial written by award-winning author Jack Finney, follows a small-town doctor as he learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates. It stars Kevin McCarthy and Dana Wynter in the lead roles and was directed by Don Siegal.
The movie will be shown in Middleton Hall beginning at 5:00 Friday evening. Popcorn , licorice and soda will be provided by the college.
