Monday – Tuesday, July 17 and 18
Free Workshop: Introduction to Grant Writing. Monday’s class will be 9:00-3:00 pm and Tuesday’s class will be 9:00 – noon. This workshop is hosted by Lassen Land & Trails Trust in partnership with Sierra Nevada Conservancy. The workshop will cover the basics of grant writing and program development, including How to make your application competitive, Basic program development for effective grant writing, the eight standard parts of a grant application, how to create a work plan and budget spreadsheet. United Blood Services to partner with Peace Officers and Fire Fighters for 3rd Annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive Susanville, CA – United Blood Services is proud to partner with local community heroes for the third annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive at the LDS Church, 905 Richmond Road, July 18-19. All donors will receive a custom Battle T-Shirt and will get a chance to enter to win a Harley-Davidson® Iron 883. To donate blood, volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16-year-old donors need minor donor permits which are available at the blood drive), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Donors can now make their appointment faster by filling out their Health History Questionnaire online at www.unitedbloodservices.org the day of their appointment and printing off their Fast Track Donation Ticket.

The Susanville Symphony Society 2017 Summer Music Festival Presents Brahms, Mozart, Bartok, Carthy. featuring The Aurelia Chamber Players. The music will be from 8:00 – 10:00 pm, at the Susanville United Methodist Church at 70 South Lassen St. Tickets are $10 per person at the door.

Diamond Mountain Speedway Car Races at the Diamond Mountain Speedway. Nature Campers enjoy observing wildlife, learn how to be safe in the outdoors, learn about watersheds, geology, botany, history, and archeology from our returning outdoor education professionals Gwen Pacheco and Jessie Diermier. At Nature Camp, your child has the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills, and gain a greater appreciation for our beautiful Lassen County We start at Lassen Land and Trails Trust’s Historic Susanville Railroad Depot but then we go everywhere! The cost is $100 which includes transportation, lunches from IGA and snacks. There are a limited number of scholarships for qualifying families.
