Learn About Local Law Enforcement with Police Department’s 12-Week Community Academy

Have you ever been curious about what a Police Officer’s job is really like? The Susanville Police Department will be offering a 12-week Community Academy where you can gain skills, knowledge and training – while joining the department’s effort to fight crime and improve our town.

Participants will learn about the many facets of local law enforcement efforts; investigations, drug recognition, criminal law, Neighborhood Watch and more.

The Citizen Academy will also include a chance to ‘ride along’ with an officer during an actual shift, giving participants a first-hand look at the job.

The training will begin August 29th, and classes will be held each Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00p.m.

An application must be filled out prior to attendance, click here to download a printable application. A copy of your photo ID must be submitted with your completed application and all ride-along applicants will undergo a background check.

For more details, or to drop off your application, visit the Susanville Police Department at 1801 Main Street or call 257-5603.
