Sheriff Seeking Local Man in Connection with Vehicle Theft and Burglary Charges

The Lassen County Sheriff’s office is currently seeking a man identified as Tobie Allen Guffie for a several theft crimes including vehicle theft, burglary and seven counts of access-card theft from a residence in Janesville that occurred on September 20th.

According to LCSO Captain Kevin Jones, the suspect is accused of entering the Janesville residence while the home was occupied and stealing multiple items, including an ATM bank card, cellular phone, many personal belongings and a 2004 Ford Expedition.

“Guffie has been identified as driving the stolen vehicle,” explained Captain Jones, “which was abandoned at a property outside of Susanville a day after the burglary.”

Tobie Guffie is described by the LCSO as 56-years of age, 5’9, 165 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

Guffie has been seen in several local businesses using the stolen bank card in the last several days. He has a valid warrant for his arrest in the bail amount of $70,000, issued out of the Lassen County Superior Court.

The case is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. Anyone who has information to Guffie’s location is urged to contact the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 257-6121.
