City Burning Prohibition Lifted: Permits Required Within City Limits

The Susanville City Fire Department has announced that, as of November 1st, 2017, residents within city limits can again resume burning, but that permits are required.

You can pick up a burn permit for $8 at the Susanville Fire Department on Main Street or at City Hall on North Lassen Street. At the Fire Hall only checks are accepted and at City Hall you can pay by check or debit card.

Once you have your burn permit you must still call Air Quality Control @ 252-4247 or 257-BURN to ensure it is a permissive burn day.

Burning hours within the city are 6:00a.m. until 2:00p.m. and fires must be completely extinguished by 2:00.

For more information call the Susanville City Fire Department at 257-5152.
