A former Herlong resident was arrested by Detectives from the Lassen County Sheriff’s office who travelled to Sacramento, Tuesday, pursuing an investigation alleging multiple sexual assault crimes on minors.
“After contacting the suspect,” explains LCSO Operations Commander Kevin Jones, “Detectives arrested Frank Patton, age 41 formerly of the Herlong area, on multiple counts of various sexual assault crimes with a minor(s) that occurred in Lassen County.”
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Patton has an extensive history within Lassen County but has recently been living in the Sacramento area and is currently on probation in Sacramento County.
“The arrest is the result of a month long investigation by the Sheriff’s Detective Unit and involves multiple minor age victims in Lassen County. In addition to these allegations, Detectives discovered Patton is involved in additional sexual assault crimes that occurred in other jurisdictions.”
Patton was transported back to Susanville and booked into the Lassen County Jail on eleven counts of sexual assault crimes with a minor. He is being held in custody in lieu of $750,000 bail.
“This investigation and subsequent arrest of Patton is the result of tireless hours of hard work our Detective Unit put into this case. We are proud of their work and dedication to our community.”
The case has been submitted to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office and the Sacramento County Probation Department.
