Community Church Summer Lunch Program Delivers 1,200 Lunches in First Week

The Community Church of Susanville’s summer lunch program in underway and in it’s first week has delivered more than 1,200 lunches, with organizers saying they are on track to deliver 10,000 meals this summer.

Volunteers from the Standish Bible Church have served over 200 of those 1,200 lunches in the Standish and Litchfield areas.

The summer lunch program for local kids runs between now and August 9th. Lunches will be available Monday through Thursday with exceptions for holidays and days during the week of the Lassen County Fair.

Registration for the program is easy – just call 257-2924. Susanville Residents will be given priority.

Would you like to help with this worthwhile program? Cash and food donations will be gladly accepted!

The church is looking for the following items to help stock the shelves for the free lunch program:

  • Peanut Butter, jelly, bread
  • Pre-packaged snacks
  • Fruit cups, applesauce, raisins
  • Fresh oranges/apples
  • Four gallon white trash bags

You can drop off donations at 110 North Gay Street, Monday thru Friday, 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
