There is a pre-season swim clinic going on right now for Lassen High students who are interested in being on the school’s swim team, giving them an opportunity to find out what swim team is all about.
The clinic will also help swimmers continue to build endurance, learn and improve-on proper swim techniques.
The practices are not mandatory for team members but they are highly recommended and should be lots of fun.
Swimmers need to bring training-appropriate swimsuits, swim cap and goggles. No swim trunks with pockets or 2-piece swimsuits will be allowed.
Two sessions of the four-session clinic remain on August 13th and 15th from 8:00 until 9:30a.m. at the Community Pool on South Street in Susanville.
Regular practices for Lassen’s swim team begin August 20th at 3:30p.m.
Tryouts will be conducted at the beginning of practice. Athletes must be able to swim a minimum of 50-yards freestyle and are required to bring verification that they have completed and submitted their sports physical and insurance verification in order to participate in the assessment.
The sports physical and athlete paperwork may be picked up in the High School Office or downloaded from the school’s website, under the parent tab.
