Lassen Public Health Warns Flu Season in Officially Here

The 2019-2020 flu season is officially here, according to the Lassen County Public Health Department, who is reminding county residents that the flu is a potentially serious, contagious disease that can cause mild to severe illness.

Serious outcomes of the flu can lead to hospitalization and even death.

The CDC and Lassen County Public Health recommends that everyone 6 months and older, get a flu shot if they have not already.

Take everyday actions to stop the spread of germs. Wash your hands often, with soap, and for a full 20 seconds, try to avoid close contact with sick people, and if you become sick, limit your contact with others by staying home from work or school.

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

Remember it takes everyone to keep Lassen County a happy and healthy place to live.
