A Susanville man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Saturday after he lost control of his 1996 Ford Explorer and overturned on Highway 395 near Leavitt Lane.
The driver, identified by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol as 37-year old Keith Barron, was driving southbound on highway between 55 and 60mph around 3:30p.m.
“Barron was driving while under the influence of alcohol,” explains CHP Public Information Officer Kristin Wilburn. “Due to Barron’s unsafe turning movement, coupled with his level of impairment, he subsequently lost control of the Ford and left the roadway along the west shoulder of US-395.”
The Ford Explorer struck a paddle marker along the west shoulder of the highway before overturning. Barron received minor injuries including a contusion to the left side of his head.
