As of 4:30p.m. Wednesday the Lassen County Office of Emergency Services is reporting that Lassen county is still free of known COVID-19 cases.
So far 105 people in the county have been tested with 101 negative results and 4 tests pending.
In Wednesday evening’s briefing the local Incident Command pointed out that Lassen County is one of the most remote counties in the state, and what sets us apart from others is the sense of community and positivity that is displayed during difficult times.
“Since the COVID-19 pandemic began to impact the daily lives of Americans, Lassen County has been fortunate to remain at zero confirmed cases. In light of this, the residents of the county have displayed a desire to help one another.”
“Individuals have taken it upon themselves to sew masks, pick up necessities for neighbors, and be supportive of one another. Many groups and organizations have come together to help others. Local food distribution services have worked to support those in need of food and local schools have continued to provide meals for students.”
Lassen County’s essential workers have continued to perform their duties, and residents have seen stores and restaurants keep products available for consumers. Businesses have also modified and developed strategies to continue to bring services to residents.
“Whether it is helping out a neighbor in need or working together to keep our community safe and healthy, we are all very fortunate to call Lassen County our home.”
