New Gold Fire Evacuation Order
Zone D – 1: Effective immediately, a mandatory Evacuation Order has been issued for Ash Valley Rd. at Williams Rd. south to Mallard Dr. west to Prairie Rd. south to Termo Grasshopper Rd. and west on Termo Grasshopper Rd. to Spooner Rd. and north to Ash Valley Rd.
People need to leave the evacuation area. Please be courteous to your neighbors and use caution due to first responders in the area. A shelter has been established at the Lassen Community College dorms. Shelter number (530)250-9088.
Zone D – 2: An Evacuation Warning has been issued for the area south of Ash Valley Rd. at US-395 west to Williams Rd. south to Mallard Dr. west to Prairie Rd. south to Termo Grasshopper Rd. and east to US-395.
People with special needs, who will need help evacuating, should call (530)257-6121 and let us know what assistance you will need. Gather valuables, animals, important papers, medication, etc. and be ready to leave. Deputies are going door to door in the area to notify residents.

The evacuation warning has been LIFTED for the area south of Susanville Road (County Road A2) from Hwy 139 west to US Forest Service Road 54/McClelland Road North of Lonkey Hill.
An evacuation warning has been ISSUED for the area south of Lonkey Hill from Highway 139 west to US Forest Service Road 54/McClelland Road and north of Hayden Hill Road.
The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. Please continue to adhere to road closures and any evacuation warnings. A reminder to drive slowly and yield to emergency personnel in the area. There will be smoke in the respective areas as firefighters continue firefighting operations. According to Cal-Fire the Gold fire has grown to 14,000 acres and is still only 5% contained.

Due to increased firefighting activity and fire vehicle traffic Highway 139 is now closed from Susanville Road (County Road A2) to Termo Grasshopper road. Civilian vehicles will not be allowed past law enforcement checkpoints.

The Gold Fire grew to 8,500 acres overnight with Cal-Fire LMU reporting only 5% containment.
An Evacuation Order has been issued for all residents along Hwy 139 from Susanville Rd. (A-2) south to Termo Grasshopper Rd.

An Evacuation Warning has been issued for areas west of Hwy 139 from Termo Grasshopper Rd. south to Gleghorn Rd and east of Slate Creek Rd.
The 4,600 acre Gold Fire, burning near County Road A2 and Highway 139 in northern Lassen County is currently 5% contained according to the Tuesday morning update released by Cal-Fire’s Lassen Modoc Unit.
The fire started yesterday afternoon and quickly threatened structures in the area.
According to CalFire the fire started as two separate fires that have now burned together.
Residents of the Butte Creek area have been evacuated.
Firefighters are working aggressively to build containment lines around the fire.
Highway 139 is currently open with traffic controls but officials are asking everyone to avoid the fire area if possible.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
