Diamond View Middle School Panthers had a week packed with action, excitement and major accomplishments! From spelling champs to volleyball victories and everything in between, our students (and staff!) showed up, stood out, and made us proud.
Spelling Bee Brilliance
DV sent five awesome students to the Countywide Spelling Bee. 6th grader Angel. Velasco took 1st Place for 5th and 6th Grade Division. Sarah Smiril also placed 2nd for 7th and 8th grade division.
Science Bowl Smarts
DV took two teams to compete in the Far NorCal Regional Science Bowl, and our Panthers did an amazing job repping their school and showing off their science smarts, teamwork, and quick thinking.
Volleyball Victories
Our 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams both snagged 1st Place in their competitions this week! The energy, hustle, and team spirit on the court were next-level. Go Panthers!
Lassen College Field Trip
Our 8th graders took a trip to Lassen Community College, where they explored career and
technical programs with hands-on activities. Welding, health sciences, tech – so many cool
future possibilities.
DV Dance Fun
DV ASB also hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Dance that brought the fun, the tunes, and all the
Panther spirit! Students danced, laughed, and celebrated being part of the DV crew.
Best of Broadway Brilliance
Not a school event, but definitely a reason to celebrate—DV students and staff rocked the stage in Susanville’s annual Best of Broadway community production. Singing, dancing, acting—so much talent!
We love seeing our students take on challenges, try new things, and shine in so many different ways. This week was a great reminder of how amazing our DV students are – and how fortunate we are to be part of their journey. I’m also incredibly impressed by our dedicated staff, who consistently show up for late nights and weekends to make these opportunities possible.
Diamond View is the only traditional middle school in Lassen County serving students in grades six through eight. With strong academics, engaging electives, leadership opportunities, and a supportive culture, DV provides a valuable bridge between elementary and high school.
It’s a unique chance for students to experience a larger, dynamic learning environment that still feels connected and personal—a stepping stone before High School designed to help students build confidence, independence, and lasting friendships.
Enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year will be open soon. Families interested in joining the Panther community are encouraged to schedule a tour and see firsthand what makes Diamond View a place students shouldn’t miss.
