If you’re looking for a dog with personality, look no more. Balto is ready to find his new family and leave the shelter life in the dust.
This spunky fella came to the Lassen County Animal Shelter as a stray, but he hasn’t let the change in scenery get him down. Balto is ALWAYS excited to start the day, get outside, and maybe play with some doggie friends too. He’s active. Oh, so VERY active. Which means that Balto will need a home that is committed to making sure he gets proper daily physical and mental stimulation. On top of getting in the right amount of exercise, Balto would benefit from a person ready to teach him some basic manners. At this point in time, Balto will jump up and could easily knock over smaller children. Shelter staff would recommend his new home to have older children for this very reason.
Balto is estimated to be about a year old and a husky mix. He’s neutered and will be brought up to date on his vaccinations. Should there be another dog in the home, a meet and greet is ALWAYS recommended prior to adoption to ensure the dogs get along. If interested in meeting this talkative boy, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at (530) 257-9200.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
