Adopt A Pet from the Lassen County Animal Shelter – Clyde

If you’re the type of person that just can’t get enough of bully breeds, then look no further than Clyde. This chocolate hunk will make your heart melt.

Clyde arrived at the Lassen County Animal Shelter as a stray, which makes his history unknown to staff. However, what staff CAN share with everyone is how much of a snuggle bug Clyde is. He thinks he’s a lap dog and will literally attempt to crawl up into your lap despite the fact that he is NOT a tiny little chihuahua, even if he pretends to be.

So far, it has become clear that Clyde LOVES to sunbathe and is friendly with other dogs through the fencing in the play yard. Further evaluations will need to be done to see how he does with other shelter dogs nose to nose. He’s a quiet, dignified fellow who very well may have some tricks up his sleeve. Staff reports Clyde may know how to ‘sit pretty’ or ‘beg’. Time will tell what other commands he might know. Clyde is neutered and estimated to be about 4 years old. If interested in meeting this handsome boy, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at (530) 257-9200.

Additional: Should there be another dog in the home, shelter staff always recommends a meet and greet to ensure a good match.

Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
