Hopper has all the makings of a great ranch dog! Do you have land for this athletic guy to work and patrol? Come meet Hopper and see if he’s a good match for your homestead.
Hopper arrived at the Lassen County Animal Shelter as a stray, which means staff is still learning about him. The concerned person who found Hopper and took him in stated that he is very high energy, an amazing jumper, and an escape artist. Sounds like a ranch dog to us. Hopper is the type of dog that would flourish with a job and plenty of space to run in; he can sprint the fence lines out in the shelter dog runs back and forth without seeming to break a sweat. His ideal home will be very active.
He’s estimated to be about 9 months old and will need to be neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption. Hopper can be mouthy, so his new person should be ready to address this. As such, it’s recommended that his new home has no small children because of this.
If interested in meeting Hopper, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at (530) 257-9200.
Additional: If there are dogs already in the home, it is suggested that potential adopters bring them to the shelter to do a meet and greet with the new dog.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
