Sullivan is a big, fluffy, and very sensitive guy. He may look tough and have a big bark, but underneath that facade Sully is actually a sweet soul looking for a snuggle buddy. No guarding sheep or goats for him. No way! Sullivan would take one look at a lion and turn tail. But shelter staff says, ‘That’s okay, Sully. We’ll find you a home with a couch you can lay on.’ So, ‘Mission: Find Sully a Couch’ has begun.
Since arriving at the Lassen County Animal Shelter Sullivan has gotten along well with staff, enjoys playing with other dogs through fencing, and like all other Great Pyrenees who came before him… he LOVES to dig. Potential adopters should expect that of him; it’s a part of his breed. They are known for digging craters and quite happily bedding down in them.
Sully is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative. If interested in learning more about Sullivan, or other adoptable animals at the shelter, please call staff at (530) 257-9200.
Featured animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter are available for adoption on a first-come-first-serve basis. According to California law, all adoptable dogs and cats must be spayed and neutered before leaving our facility. If interested in adopting an animal, please contact the shelter directly.
Current shelter hours during the COVID-19 pandemic are Monday through Friday, 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday. You can contact the shelter at 257-9200.
