Lassen National Forest’s Almanor Ranger District is seeking volunteer campground hosts for the 2016 camping season. The recreation season begins in mid-May and extends through early to mid-September, as conditions allow.
“We’re especially seeking enthusiastic campers who enjoy working outdoors, with the public, and with Lassen National Forest staff,” said Soai Talbot.
Campgrounds in need of hosts include Almanor South, Almanor North, Legacy, Domingo Springs, Warner, High Bridge, Elam, Potato Patch, Butte Meadows, and Cherry Hill. These campgrounds are located between one and three hours of Chico, Red Bluff, and Redding.
Host duties may include welcoming visitors, posting reservations at campsites, sharing news and information about recreational opportunities in the area, and light campground maintenance.
Hosts will receive a free campsite and propane but must provide their own self-contained RV or trailer and personal vehicle.
For more information and an application, please contact Soai Talbot, Almanor District Lead Recreation Technician, at 530-258-2141.
