policeupdate3Three Susanville residents have been arrested in connection with the early morning smash-and-grab burglary at Honey Lake Firearms in uptown Susanville on September 9th.

According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, officers investigating the case quickly identified 25 year-old Susanville resident Samuel Lima as the suspect and arrested him around 3:00p.m., that afternoon. One firearm was recovered from Lima who stated he sold the others. Lima was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, carrying a concealed firearm without a license and selling firearms without a license.

“Officers discovered three firearms in McCallister’s possession,” explained Lieutenant Wood. “None of the firearms recovered were identified as being taken during the Honey Lake Firearms burglary, however one was identified as being stolen from an earlier Lassen County Sheriff Department case.”

According to police Mccallister also had outstanding felony warrants and was in possession of methamphetamine at the time the warrant was served. He was arrested and booked at the Lassen County Jail on charges of a ‘prohibited person’ in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine for sale.

A third suspect, identified as 31 year-old Joseph Vanmear, was arrested by Susanville police on September 13th. Vanmear was in possession of one of the stolen firearms from the burglary. He was booked into the Lassen County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
