Banner Lassen Medical Center announced Monday that Chief Nursing Officer Catherine Harshbarger will serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer to replace Bob Edwards who left the organization Friday. Harshbarger has served as the Chief Nursing Officer at Banner Lassen for more than two years.
According to a press release provided by the hospital, Harshbarger has more than 30 years of nursing experience, including 14 years in leadership roles.
Prior to working here in Susanville she was the Director of Patient Services at Pueblo West in Colorado.
Harshbarger has a Master’s in Health Administration and a diverse clinical and leadership background serving in acute care, home health, case management and physician clinics.
Outgoing CEO Bob Edwards was named Chief Executive of Banner Lassen in 2011.
“I want to thank Bob for leading Banner Lassen Medical Center for the past two years, and for his service to the Susanville community,” said Jim Ferando, president of Banner Health’s Western Region.
“We will begin a search for his permanent replacement immediately.”
