As part of an on-going series, Banner Lassen Medical Center is hosting its next ‘Dinner with a Doctor’ in September to offer community members the chance to learn more about theĀ treatment of gallstones.
The event, called āCholelithiasis: What is it and how can you prevent it from happening to you!,ā will be held September 11th, from 5:00 until 7:00p.m. at 1800 Spring Ridge Drive in the Pioneer Room.
At the dinner, community members will learn how the treatment for gallstones can vary and early intervention mayĀ prevent their formation. Once gallstones become symptomatic, however, surgical invention is usually required.
Dr. Kent Zettel, general surgeon, will share dinner, expertise and questions and answers with those attending.
Tamara McCart, RN Manager with Banner Health Perioperative Services, notes that because āthis is one of theĀ most frequent procedures done in Lassen County, this event will allow residents to learn ways to help prevent thisĀ from happening to them.ā
Dinner will include BBQ tri-tip, salad, rolls and snicker salad for dessert. Those interested in attending this free, community event are asked to RSVP by September 7th by calling (530) 252-2178 and leaving a name, phone numberĀ and how many will be attending.
After this event, ‘Dinner with a Doctor’ willĀ resume in DecemberĀ with a Banner LassenĀ obstetrician as the featured guest.
