Banner Lassen Medical Center is celebrating the first baby of the new year! Just a few hours past midnight on January 1st, Jenna Miles gave birth to the first baby born at Banner in 2020.
The girl, who is yet to be named, was born at 3:50a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19 1/4 inches at birth.
Miles received a Banner Lassen Hospital gift basket filled with baby necessities, receiving blankets, toys, diapers and more, all in which was donated by the employees of Banner Lassen.
Banner has a ‘First Baby of the New Year Party’ in September to start the donation process. Throughout the rest of the year, staff continues to add to the Gift Basket, which the Women’s Infant Services Department keeps for the arrival of the First Baby of the New Year!
Banner Lassen delivered 219 babies, 113 girls and 131 boys in 2019. Baby Girl Miles has the honor of being the first baby delivered this decade.
