It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Beverly Sue (Perkins) Kauffman.
Sue, as she preferred, was born September 20, 1940 in Kansas and left there moving to Red Bluff, Ca at the age of nine years with her father.
She grew up there and after graduating from high school married Eugene Perkins Sr and they moved to Ash Valley (Adin) then to Standish, Ca. Her husband passed away after 17 years of marriage leaving her with three young children.
In 1978 she married Bill Kauffman and they set up a home and family in Lake Forest Estates (Susanville) Sue enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and travel. Sue and Bill had just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on March 18, 2025.
Sue was one of Jehovah’s witnesses and loved talking to people about “The Truth, The Way and The Light” that the Bible shows and teaches people about what the Bible really shows of God’s Kingdom.
Sue was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011 and began a long battle with it. In 2023 she was placed into Lassen Care and Rehabilitation to receive the 24/7 care she needed.
Then on March 30, 2025 she went to Banner Lassen Medical Center with major issues and was admitted into Comfort Care. On March 31, 2025 at 7:40 am she peacefully passed away, with her husband at her bedside.
Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, he father Louis Kimberlin and mother, Mary Feris. She is survived by her husband Bill and their three children Gene Perkins Jr, (Cheryl) Dian Locke both in Susanville and Tim Perkins in Vacaville, Ca. along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sue’s wishes were for no services and she was cremated. Family will hold a private gathering later in the year. Sue will be greatly missed by many, that knew and loved her dearly.
