Welcome to our weekly feature dedicated to covering Susanville and Lassen County’s business scene! Grand openings, new employees, renovations, new hours… each week we’ll keep you up to date with important information about the businesses you rely on.
Susanville Supermarket IGA
On April 6th, Susanville Supermarket IGA celebrated the anniversary of long-time employee Debbie Oschner. Oschner has now been with Susanville Supermarket for an impressive thirty-two years.
Rick Stewart, the store’s previous owner says, “Congratulations Debbie, you were one of our very best hires. So glad you chose to come work with us all those years ago!”
Jessica Miller, current owner of IGA, told us, “What they say is true, when you’ve been around someone long enough, they become family, and after working together for 15 years, that’s exactly what she is.”
If you swing by IGA for an early morning donut, make sure you wish Oschner a happy anniversary.
Blue Ox Café and Bakery
Westwood’s Blue Ox Cafe & Bakery have finished their remodeling and are open for business with a brand-new look and an expanded menu.
New selections at the cafe include crepes, breakfast bowls, tartines and sandwiches. There are even special choices for the kids in the family on the children’s menu.
Make sure to try their Acai bowl! It’s full of flavor and makes a great choice for a late breakfast or early lunch.
