Welcome to our weekly feature dedicated to covering Susanville and Lassen County’s business scene! Grand openings, new employees, renovations, new hours… each week we’ll keep you up to date with important information about the businesses you rely on.
Blue Ox Bistro, Joe’s Coffee and The Smokin’ Bean
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and three local coffee shops are working together to raise awareness and support Lassen Family Services. Each time you order a special drink, called the Real Teal, at one of the shops, it helps shed light on an important cause, while raising money for a very worthwhile organization.
The three coffee shops have a friendly competition going on to see who can sell the most drinks. Everyone is invited to stop by one, or all, of these amazing places. Every drink counts!
Blue Ox Bistro
$1 will be donated to Lassen Family Services for every Real Teal drink purchased at the Blue Ox Bistro in uptown Susanville. The Blue Ox version of the tasty treat has the sweet citrus of Blue Curacao syrup, the refreshing crisp sparkle of 7-Up and a splash of pineapple juice to balance it out. Blue Ox also adds Barista Gianna’s favorite ingredient – edible glitter. If you prefer a little more kick to your drink, let Blue Ox substitute Red Bull instead of 7-Up.
Joe’s Coffee
For every Real Teal drink ordered in the month of April, $1 goes to LFS. Joe’s version of the drink is a Blue Raspberry Passion Fruit Red Bull with an edible shimmer.
The Smokin’ Bean, at the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel
The Smokin’ Bean version of the Blue Teal features blue raspberry, lemon-limeade infused Red Bull with edible glitter. It comes in large only and they can substitute sugar free Red Bull if desired. The Smokin’ Bean is donating $1.50 from each purchase of the Real Teal drink to LFS.
Diamond Mountain Casino & Hotel
Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel will present two special, laugh-packed comedy shows April 11th, featuring Warren Durso, as seen in Esquire magazine!
The first show begins at 7:00 and the second at 9:00, doors open thirty minutes before showtime.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the casino gift shop. You must be 21 to see the show.
