The Bureau of Land Management’s Litchfield Wild Horse and Burro Corrals near Susanville will be closed to the public Tuesday, Aug. 6th, during the planned LMUD power outage.
During the outage the wild horse facility will have no services, including phones and domestic water.
Water for horses and burros will not be affected, as a water trough pumps will be powered by a generator. Feeding will continue as usual.
The BLM expects to reopen the corrals Wednesday, Aug. 8th, at 8:00a.m.
The corrals, about 20 miles east of Susanville on U. S. Highway 395, are open to the public from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The facility offers wild horses and burros for public adoption.
