BLM Seeking Public Comments on Off-Highway Vehicle Grant Application

The Bureau of Land Management’s Eagle Lake Field Office is accepting public suggestions and comments regarding management needs and projects that would benefit off-highway vehicle recreation on public lands.

The field office staff will use the comments to develop a preliminary grant application to the California State Parks Off- Highway Motor Vehicle Division.
Suggestions must be submitted before Monday, February 28th, to the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, 2550 Riverside Dr., Susanville, CA 96130, attention Marisa Williams, or by email to [email protected].

Grant funding can be used for law enforcement, trail monitoring, maintenance, planning, construction, development, safety improvements, education, and repairing impacts from unauthorized off highway vehicle use. In past years the Eagle Lake Field Office has used grants at the Fort Sage and Rice Canyon off -highway vehicle areas near Susanville.

The BLM will submit project proposals by March 7th, 2016. A 30-day public comment period will begin March 8th. Project descriptions and cost estimates will be available for review beginning March 8th, at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov.
