According to Lassen OES Chief Eric Ewing the progress of the fire was halted at 4 acres. One outbuilding is confirmed to have been destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Agencies responding to the fire included Susan River Fire, BLM, Janesville Fire, Lassen National Forest, Cal-Fire, Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, Standish Litchfield and Lassen County Office of Emergency Services.

Radio traffic indicates that firefighters are making good progress on the fire.

Air resources have begun arriving over the scene of the fire.

Firefighting resources from multiple agencies are responding to a reported vegetation fire burning in a field near Carolyn Way in Janesville.
Several wildland engines, two air tankers and two helicopters are en route.
