Buddy Ross Riche
Buddy Ross Riche 82, went to be with our Lord on January 17, 2023 at Renown Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family who loved him very much. He will be missed by many.
Buddy was born June 16, 1940 in Council Bluffs, IA. to William and Louise Riche. Bud was one of four brothers, which included Paul Riche, Rich Riche and Billy Riche. Bud was married to Darlene Mae Riche in 1963 and they were married for 55 years before she proceeded him in death on June 20, 2019. He was a loving and caring husband, a great father and a mentor to many.
Bud started his military career at the age of 19 when he enlisted in the USMC and spent four years. He later rejoined the military in the Air National Guard and retired from the Air Force at the age of 59 after 28 years of service. Bud also worked for the state of California Transportation Department (CALTRANS) for 32 years and retired in 1990 at the age of 50.
Buddy was a Christian and has been Pastor of the Doyle Christian Church for the past 45 years. His faith and love for Christ was undeniable. His faith is what drove him and kept his drive to build a new church in Doyle. There have been many to compare it to Noah’s Ark story in the Bible. We pray that someday God will let us see it complete.
Bud will also be remembered for his grand singing voice and his guitar playing. He and his 1956 Martin HD 28 have played and sung places all over the world. Carried with him since he was 16 years old, it has accompanied him everywhere he has been. Lately, that it has been at church every Sunday.
Buddy is preceded in death by wife Darlene, daughter Dana, brothers Rich and Paul. Buddy is survived by His son Randy Riche and his wife Lisa Riche of Antelope Ca.; his Brother Billy Riche and his wife Jan Riche of Council Bluffs, IA.; Grandchild Joshua Pena and his wife Kortnie Pena and two great grandchildren Jace Pena and Emberly Pena.; Buddy is also survived by cousins and many nieces and nephews of Council Bluffs IA.
Memorial services will be held on February 25th, 2023 at the Doyle Christian Church, (unfinished new building) officiated by Reverend James Moore followed by a gathering for a celebration of life and food at the Doyle Senior Hall. The service will begin at 1:00 pm on 2/25/23.
