Lassen Family Services will be hosting a fun, family movie night on March 28th, featuring the Disney animated film A Bug’s Life.
‘CASA Movie Night’ begins at 6:00p.m., and along with the movie there will be a concession stand with refreshments.
The price for admission to the fundraiser for the Court Appointed Special Advocates program is $5 per person and the event will be held at the Community Church of Susanville, 1400 Numa Road.
CASA’s mission is to provide specially selected and trained community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in Lassen County’s juvenile dependency system. The group works as a non-profit program under the umbrella agency of Lassen Family Services, in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel and community resources to ensure that each child’s best interests are protected.
The focus of CASA’s advocacy is on the following areas:
· Placement
· Education
· Mental/medical health
· Permanency
Another goal of the CASA program is to educate the community regarding the great need for CASA volunteers. CASA is committed to advocating for each dependent child’s best interests and believe their mission will be accomplished when each dependent child has secured a safe permanent home.
