The Small Business Development Center and Shasta College Business and Entrepreneurship Center will present “Financing Options for Your Small Business” Tuesday, October 23, 2013, beginning at 12noon to 2pm. This is a free class that will be held at Lassen Community College. Some of the topics that will be covered include how does a small business get money, tips for dealing with lenders, how does SBA look a loan requests, what to do before applying for a loan, how the SBA can help and the SBA loan guarantee program. The Chamber board of directors is accepting applications to fill several board vacancies. Chamber members interested in representing the business community and sharing their time and talents by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. The Board is seeking a candidate who has business experience, community involvement, and the desire to represent the interests of the local business community. Stop by the Chamber office, or call 257-4323 to receive an application to apply for the vacancy.
Due to the Chips Fire, Plumas County was declared a disaster zone and received a declaration for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Assistance from the SBA. This declaration makes the assistance available to surrounding counties, including Lassen. The US Small Business Administration (SBA) is making low-interest working capital federal loans available to small businesses impacted by the Chips Fire.
