The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s Hometown Pride cleanup campaign gets underway this Saturday with the first of two planned mornings full of weed pulling, power washing sidewalks, picking up trash and recycling – all part of a concerted effort to make Susanville more beautiful for both residents and travelers who might pass through town.
“We want everyone living here and passing through to want to stop and take in the view,” explains Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Director Kelly Ackley.
“Our city has so much potential to be a prominent stop on somebody’s vacation, an enjoyable stroll down Main Street, a showcase of what a small town should be about.”
According to Ackley the Chamber’s goal is to promote and instill pride in our community along with giving business owners and residents a chance to take part in creating, “the atmosphere they’ve always wanted.”
