A 43 year-old Gridley Resident was injured Monday when the Kenworth Semi-Trailer he was driving struck a guardrail, turned over and came to rest on its side along Highway 32 in the Deer Creek Canyon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver, identified as Michael Shadd,  was operating a 2013 Kenworth truck/tractor with a trailer full of Heifer feed.
Shadd was traveling northbound 0n Highway 32 at an unknown speed when he failed to negotiate a recommended 30 MPH curve in the highway, running off the east side of the road and colliding with the guardrail as the vehicle overturned onto its right side.
A physician from the Sacramento area witnessed the collision and extracted the driver, who according to the report was not wearing his seatbelt, and rendered medical aid.
The driver sustained what appeared to be minor injuries at the scene  and was transported via ambulance to Enloe Hospital for evaluation.
