The Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol has released the identity of 73-year-old Susanville resident Bradley Twaddle, as one of two people killed in a head-on collision on Highway 395 last Wednesday afternoon.
According to the CHP Incident Report, Twaddle was driving a 2003 Infinity northbound on US-395 at an unknown rate of speed on Bass Hill at the same moment that a woman identified as 60-year-old Mesa, Arizona resident, Sheryl Widmer was driving a 2019 Mazda southbound on US-395 at approximately sixty-five mph.
Her passenger, Irvin Widmer was seated in the right front passenger seat of the Mazda and according to the report both parties were restrained by seatbelts.
The vehicles collided head-on on the shoulder of US 395 resulting in fatal injuries for Twaddle and Irvin Widmer. Sheryl Widmer sustained major injuries and was transported by SEMSA Air ambulance to Renown medical center in Reno.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
