A Reno, Nevada man was arrested for suspicion of DUI Saturday afternoon following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 36 west of State Route 147.
According to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, 64-year old Reno resident Thomas Pellet was driving his 2008 Ford pickup westbound at an unknown speed when, “as a result of his high level of intoxication,” he allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Pellet’s truck collided with several rocks and a tree before it rolled onto its side and came to rest. The vehicle sustained major damage as a result of the crash.
The driver was not injured in the collision and according to the CHP was arrested for suspicion of DUI before being transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center as a precaution.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
