CHP Report: Collision on Hwy 44 Injures 4 Nevada Residents

chpincidentFour Nevada residents were injured Monday afternoon when the 2008 Nissan Pickup they were driving in left the roadway and collided with a tree near Harvey Valley Road on Highway 44.

According to the CHP report 36 year-old Sparks resident Douglas Lee Bray was traveling eastbound on State Route 44 at an unknown speed when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the south side of the roadway.

Bray was able to steer the truck back into the roadway for a short distance but then abruptly turned back to the right which caused the pickup to begin sliding.

The Nissan traveled in a south-easterly direction off the roadway where it collided with a tree.

The vehicle’s momentum caused it to continue on in a easterly direction until it came to rest on its roof.

As a result of this collision, all occupants of the pickup – Douglas Bray, 40 year old Laura Bray and two minor children – sustained serious to moderate injuries.

The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
