A Susanville woman suffered major injuries in a Wednesday morning collision at the intersection of Johnstonville and Center Road according to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at around 8:00a.m. as 70-year old Susanville resident Kim Xuyen Thi Taylor, driving a 2014 Ford Explorer, made a left turn onto Johnstonville road from the intersection.
At the same time 26-year old Susanville resident Emily Fleischmann was driving her 2015 Kia Optima eastbound on Johnstonville road approaching Center Road.
“Ms. Taylor turned left, continuing onto westbound Johnstonville road, and was struck by Ms. Fleischmann’s eastbound Kia ,” explains CHP Public Information Officer Kristin Wilburn.
Fleischmann was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center with major injuries. Taylor was uninjured in the crash.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
