Corrects number of votes in our earlier story
When all was counted and done two votes were all that separated LHS Board candidates Jeff Atkinson and Michelle Zubillaga in their race for the second open seat on the board.
Atkinson finished with 3,005 votes and Zubillaga has 3,007.
The Election Office’s website has been updated and includes all of the qualified ballots.
According to Lassen County Clerk-Recorder Julie Bustamante there are 83 provisional ballots that did not count, but they will be double checked on Tuesday.
“When the State began on-line Voter Registration, some voters were marked as “pending” because the State’s system needed more information,” explains Bustamante, “We are going to make sure these ballots do not belong to any “pending” voters because we want to make sure every qualified vote counts!”
