Donald “Ray” Kirby, Ray affectionately known by his logging family & friends as Red Bird. Passed away at the age of 89 On 2/23/23. He was born in Westville, Oklahoma on 06/16/1933. At 18 Ray moved to California. From 1951 to 1953 He worked for fruit growers as a ripsaw operator. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Returning to Westwood and logging as a Cat Skidder for many years.
Preceded in death by his wife Georgia Guess. His parents, brothers and sisters. He is survived by his four children, Don, Leslie, Tim and Mariann. Four step-children, Carrie, Vern, Verna and Kathy. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His remaining brother Ken Kirby. Graveside service will be held 06/17/23 at 2:00pm at Westwood Cemetery.
