Douglas Elton Millar passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 at the age of 90. Douglas was a fourth generation Lassen County resident born to Elton and Lola(Bass) Millar on February 1, 1933.
Douglas graduated from Lassen High School in 1950. He served in the Air force from 1952-1956. Doug married Lorena in 1958. They retired in 1993 after 30 years of running Millar Hardware. Doug was a member of the Elks Lodge for 70 years. He enjoyed helping his children with their various activities including Little League, Cub Scouts, and Softball. Doug never missed his kids or grandkids sports events or other adventures they were involved in. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.
Douglas was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lorena Millar. He is survived by by his children, Linda (Galen) Roberts, Larry(Bonnie Lou) Millar, Darrel(Cindy) Millar, and Cheryl(Steve) Phillips; grandchildren Michelle (Mike), Clinton (Amy), Emily(Andy), Kayla, Amy, Scott, Karly, Justin, Jason, and Jennifer(Ethan); and Great grandchildren, Elijah, Caitlyn, McKenzie, Annabelle, and Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Monticola Club on February 10, 2024 at 2:00pm.
