An amazing wonderland magically appears at the Lassen County Fairgrounds each year during the holidays, and this year the displays are expected to be bigger, brighter and more awe-inspiring than ever before.
In what has become an annual tradition for Susanville residents the Lassen County Fair is hosting its ‘Holiday Festival of Lights’ exhibition at the fairgrounds every weekend during the month of December beginning with a special ‘walk-through’ evening on December 4th.
The displays are built by different local groups, organizations and individuals for the public to drive through and ‘oooooh and ahhhhhhh’ at during the season. The massive display of holiday cheer is also a stop on the annual Kiwanis Senior Light Tour.
Last year’s Festival of Lights was a huge success with 875 vehicles, plus three buses for the Kiwanis tour, making the trip through the grounds to see the light displays.
Fair manager Jim Wolcott says, “It is just a great thing to do for the community and to see everyone come together and participate in.”
Come visit the Holiday Festival of Lights from 5:00 – 9:00p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 5:00-8:00p.m. on Sundays during the month of December.

Main Street Christmas Trees
This holiday season you can help decorate Susanville by being a part of the Lassen County Fair’s annual Christmas Tree Display at the east of end of town. Businesses, organizations and families are all invited to set up a tree in the display during the month of December. Space is limited however, with only nine spots available. How it works
Participants will need to provide their own 6 to 7 foot tree which the fair will install in the display around the digital marquee on Main Street.
The fair will be providing electricity but decorators will have to provide all tree lights and decorations for their tree. The trees should be set up and decorated by Friday December 4th and each group is responsible for taking down their lights and decorations by the end of December.
