Festival of Lights Spectacular at the Lassen County Fairgrounds

An amazing wonderland magically appears at the Lassen County Fairgrounds each year during the holidays, and this year the displays have gotten bigger, brighter and more awe-inspiring.

In what has become an annual tradition for Susanville residents the Lassen County Fair is hosting its  ‘Holiday Festival of Lights’ exhibition at the fairgrounds every weekend during the month of December.

The displays are built by different local groups, organizations and individuals for the public to drive through and ‘oooooh and ahhhhhhh’ at during the season.

Fair manager Jim Wolcott says, “It is just a great thing to do for the community and to see everyone come together and participate in.“

Main Street Christmas Trees

A new feature added to this year’s holiday fun is decorated trees on Main Street, surrounding the fair’s electronic marquee, near the Jensen Hall entrance to the fairgrounds.

Service clubs, businesses and families are all invited to help support the light festival by adding a tree to the display.

“Response has been terrific,” said Fair Manager Jim Wolcott. “As of today we have participants that include the Soroptimists, Lassen High FFA and Pizza Factory with more trees on the way.”

If you would like to set up a tree just call the fair office at 251-8900.

Come visit the light fair 5:00 – 9:00p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 5:00-8:00p.m. on Sundays during the month of December. For more information call 251-8900.
