Lassen Fire Safe Council will be holding their February General Meeting on the 21st, at 5:30p.m. in the Susan River Fire Hall in Johnstonville.
Come get updates on the grant projects and stay for some light refreshments and to speak with Fire Safe staff and partner agencies.
The guest speaker for the General Meeting will be Terrance Rogers, Manager of Project Development, for Golden State Natural Resources.
He will be presenting a project update and answering questions about the status of GSNR’s proposal to establish pellet manufacturing facilities in Jamestown and Nubieber, as well as a port facility in Stockton.
These facilities are expected to further the goals of GSNR to provide for forest resilience and reduce wildfire risk by utilizing forest residues and excess small trees and roundwood.
This effort is also expected to spur economic opportunities in rural areas.
