The Susanville City Fire Department has released the details of a Wednesday evening electrical fire in a residence on South Mesa Street in Susanville that displaced three residents and damaged the attic of the home.
According to Fire Captain Mark Ward the department, along with automatic aid from the Susan River Fire District, responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of South Mesa Street at around 6:30p.m. When firefighters arrived a small fire was discovered in the attic and it was quickly extinguished.
Three residents were displaced and relocated to homes of friends and family.
“The cause of the fire appeared to be accidental/electrical in nature and no injuries were reported,” said Captain Ward. “Damage was confined to the area of origin.”
Two Chief Officers, two Police Units, three Fire Engines and 1 Ladder Truck responded to the incident.
The Susanville Police Department and Lassen OES also assisted during the fire.
