It was a fantastic week for history in Susanville – On Wednesday the Sunrise Rotarians announced their intention to make a major contribution to the Roop’s Fort preservation fund, and on Friday the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, the Lassen Historical Society and the County of Lassen threw a big party in the park by the fort to celebrate Lassen County’s sesquicentennial.
Hundreds of people showed up for the county’s 150th birthday soiree, a monumental undertaking that involved several organizations contributing time, effort and money to make the event a success.
